One of the oldest cultivated varieties, dating back to the Roman empire. A very durable variety with excellent heat tolerance. Produces a fine grade sweet white wine suitable for table wines and sparkling wines. Loose cluster, with large 23mm berries. Well adapted to a wide range of soil types, including high clay content soals. Very disease tolerant, with few problems. Pairs well with fresh fruit, goat cheese, or salmon.
