American hybrid (CLVB) cross between Salado and Pense. Nitodal is a selection of Lomanto. Improved juice chemistry and slightly larger berries. Somewhat more pronounced flavor than Lomanto. Superior heat and drought tolerance. Few disease issues. Adapts well to a wide range of soil types including high calcium soils. Produces a sumptuous red table wine. Pairs well with grilled beef, roast pork, and chocolate deserts.
